About this clinic
The Universitäts-Fortpflanzungszentrum Franken (UFF, University Reproductive Center Franconia) is part of Erlangen University Hospital and is thus embedded in one of the largest university care complexes in Bavaria. If you come here, you do not end up in an independent practice but in a center that brings research, teaching, and clinical care under one roof. That makes a difference, especially for patients with complex starting situations. The range of services includes standard fertility treatment with IVF, ICSI, insemination, and cryopreservation, but goes well beyond that. A dedicated offering is aimed at women who want to preserve their fertility before cancer treatment. The UFF is part of the FertiPROTEKT network and works closely with the Comprehensive Cancer Center Erlangen-EMN. For the cryopreservation of ovarian tissue, according to the website, there is even a dedicated quality test to verify the freezing protocol. Single women who want to have a child are also explicitly named as a target group. Basic diagnostics include the medical information session to assess risk factors, hormone lab values, hysterosalpingosonography, and, if needed, surgical diagnostics. The center is certified under TUV SUD ISO 9001. The spokesperson of the center is Prof. Dr. med. Matthias W. Beckmann. In addition to the clinical services, psychosocial counseling and a clinical social service are available. If you would like a first overview, the website has an FAQ section and information on the initial visit. The center is located at Nürnberger Straße 35 in Erlangen.
