What is the IVF success rate?
According to the German IVF Registry 2024, the average pregnancy rate per embryo transfer is 30.5% in fresh cycles and 31.5% in frozen cycles. The live birth rate is about 22.5% per transfer. These values vary widely by age, AMH level, and other factors.
How does age affect the IVF success rate?
Age is the most important factor. Women under 30 have a rate of over 40% per transfer. From age 35 it drops to ~35%, at age 40 to 23%, and from age 45 to under 5%.
What is the AMH level and why does it matter?
The AMH level (anti-Müllerian hormone) indicates the ovarian reserve. According to D.I.R. 2024, women with AMH >3.5 ng/ml have a rate of 36.7%, while at AMH <1.0 ng/ml it is 23.9%. Our calculator takes the AMH level into account, based on national registry data.
How many IVF attempts are needed on average?
After one transfer, ~34% become pregnant, after two 53%, after three 64%, and after four 69%. Over three quarters of all couples achieve a pregnancy after several attempts.
How accurate is this calculator?
