About this clinic
Behind the facade of one of Switzerland’s largest laboratory companies, Viollier operates a specialized outpatient clinic for assisted reproduction and andrology at Gellertstrasse 144 in Basel. The location is part of the Viollier network but bundles its own clinical offering there: from the initial andrological evaluation to complete IVF treatment under one roof. In andrology, the lab covers a broad range of evaluations. In addition to semen analysis according to the WHO standard, DNA fragmentation analyses with the halo test, biochemical semen parameters, and sperm detection after vasectomy are performed. Sample preparation with a survival test is also possible on site, which spares couples unnecessary additional trips. In the ART area, the range extends from preparation for intrauterine insemination through IVF and ICSI to morphologically selected sperm injection (IMSI). Treatments can be carried out in the natural cycle. For couples with multiple implantation attempts or a genetic risk profile, three forms of preimplantation genetic testing are available: PGT-A for chromosomal aneuploidies, PGT-M for monogenic disorders, and PGT-SR for structural chromosomal changes. This is supplemented by blastocyst culture, assisted hatching, and the activation of eggs in cases of fertilization failure. Cryopreservation covers all relevant cell types: sperm from ejaculate and testicular biopsy, unfertilized and fertilized eggs, and embryos. Appointments are available exclusively by arrangement over the phone. The outpatient clinic is open Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and can be reached by bus no. 37 (Bethesda Spital stop).
