Founded in 2004 by Dr. Michael Zajc, the Babywunsch-Klinik Dr. Zajc in Wals has a history that reaches back even further: Before that, the founder headed the department of endocrinology and reproductive medicine at the Salzburg State Hospital. This foundation still shapes how the clinic works today. In the first twenty years of its existence, more than 2,800 couples were supported in fulfilling their wish for a child. The medical offering covers the full spectrum of reproductive medicine. Diagnostics include testing of tubal patency (HyCoSy), ultrasound examination of the ovaries and uterus, and hormone testing. Treatments available include IUI, IVF, ICSI, TESE, and MESA, complemented by cryopreservation, its own sperm bank, and egg donation and sperm donation. Specific conditions such as endometriosis, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), recurrent miscarriages, genetic conditions, and fallopian tube dysfunction are addressed in a targeted way. Since November 2018, the clinic has been located in a purpose-designed building at Bundesstraße 37 in Wals. Quality management is certified according to ISO 9001:2015 and is additionally inspected by the Federal Office for Safety in Health Care (BASG/AGES). The medical director is Dr. Philipp Zajc, a specialist in gynecology and obstetrics. The team includes additional specialists in gynecology as well as its own laboratory department with clinical embryologists and biomedical analysts. For couples who meet the requirements, financial support through the Austrian IVF Fund (IVF-Fonds) is possible. In addition, the clinic offers psychological support and regular free information evenings. Patients from abroad receive separate support.
