About this clinic
Prim. Dr. Georg Freude has worked in reproductive medicine since 1983 and is considered one of the pioneers of IVF in Austria. His institute Gynandron, based in Vienna’s 12th district, treats couples with infertility and has specialized in a group of patients who need particular attention in reproductive medicine: women and couples hoping to have a child at a later age. The range of treatments extends from cycle monitoring and hormone therapy through IUI, IVF, and ICSI to surgical procedures such as TESE and MESA for sperm retrieval. The offering is complemented by special methods to improve the implantation rate, including Embryoglue, intralipid infusions for implantation failure or miscarriages, the ERA test to determine the optimal timing of the transfer, and IMSI and PICSI for expanded sperm selection. A special culture medium is also available for women over 35. Elective egg freezing, that is, the cryopreservation of eggs for later use, rounds out the offering. One concrete difference from many other centers: Office hours are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., which makes treatment easier to access for working couples without taking time off from work. By phone, the team can be reached Monday through Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Two physicians are always present during treatment. For psychological support, Dr. René Schramböck is available, who works at the institute as a general practitioner and psychotherapist. Gynandron has contracts with the Austrian IVF Fund (IVF-Fonds), through which part of the treatment costs can be subsidized.
