About this clinic

Founded by IVF pioneer Wilfried Feichtinger, who provided care for Austria’s first IVF baby in 1982, the Wunschbaby Institut Feichtinger on Lainzer Straße in Vienna’s 13th district stands for more than four decades of reproductive medicine practice. Today the institute is led by Priv. Doz. DDr. Michael Feichtinger. According to its own statements, it has developed into the leading address for egg donation in the German-speaking world and into the first IVF genetics institute. The range of services includes classic treatments such as IVF, ICSI, and intrauterine insemination as well as specialized procedures: preimplantation genetic testing (PGT-A), surgical sperm retrieval via TESE, and cryopreservation of eggs and sperm. For women who want to secure their fertility over time, the institute offers elective egg freezing. In addition, diagnostic packages under the name Ferticheck for both women and men are offered, along with AMH testing to assess ovarian reserve. Evaluation for endometriosis and andrological examinations including semen analysis are also part of the program. A genetics lab of its own under the FERTIFATE brand makes it possible to carry out genetic tests such as chromosome analysis (FERTIFATE KARYO), thrombophilia screening, and carrier testing directly on site, without detours to external labs. Complementary medicine, acupuncture, and psychotherapeutic support can complement the medical treatment. The institute is set up to be multilingual; besides German, the website is also available in English, Italian, Turkish, Russian, Croatian, and Romanian, which reflects the international orientation of its patient population. For those interested, regular free information evenings are held at the Vienna location, and initial consultations can also be booked online. In addition to Vienna, the institute operates further locations in Baden and St. Pölten. The institute states that it has accompanied more than 20,000 births.
