About this clinic
The Kinderwunschcentrum Nürnberg MVZ is a fertility clinic organized as a medical care center (Medizinisches Versorgungszentrum, MVZ) at Agnesgasse 2-4 in the heart of Nuremberg, and it covers the entire spectrum of reproductive medicine diagnostics and therapy. A team of five physicians, which includes Prof. Dr. Peter Licht, Dr. Janina Hackl, and Dr. Florian Kraml alongside Dr. Joachim Neuwinger and Dr. Barbara Munzer-Neuwinger, cares for couples and single women from the initial diagnostic workup to the completion of treatment. The services range from classic intrauterine insemination (IUI) through IVF and ICSI to cryopreservation, elective egg freezing, and insemination with donor sperm. The medical program is complemented by its own hormone lab, in which endocrine questions such as ovarian insufficiency, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), hyperprolactinemia, and thyroid disorders are evaluated in a targeted way. For women with endometriosis or recurrent implantation disorders, a specific diagnostic concept is available, which follows a structured course in the so-called diagnostic cycle. The center explicitly also serves lesbian couples and women who are seeking treatment without a partner. Psychological support is built into the practice structure to accompany patients through the treatment phase, which is often emotionally stressful. Appointments can be booked by phone or through an online reception. The practice is open five days a week, Monday through Thursday until 6:00 p.m. On the practice website, the team provides extensive information on the cycle, fertilization, and treatment procedures, and at regular information evenings, interested people can clarify open questions beforehand.

What patients report: Patients especially value Dr. Hackl for her empathetic care and emotional support over longer courses of treatment. Others, however, report challenges such as difficulty reaching the practice, inconsistent information between staff members, and a lack of emotional support from the team. Experiences at the center therefore differ significantly depending on the treating physician and the point of contact.
