About this clinic
Since 2011, the KITZ, the MVZ KinderwunschTherapie im Zentrum (a medical care center for fertility treatment), has been located on Hemauerstraße in the middle of Regensburg. Prof. Dr. med. Andreas Schüring is the medical director and managing director; together with Dr. Lindihana Saliji-Preniqi, Dr. med. Janine Suhren, and Prof. Dr. med. Bernd Seifert, he covers the reproductive medicine range of services. The clinic treats both heterosexual and same-sex couples. The diagnostic approach has two stages: at the first appointment, possible causes of infertility are narrowed down through a detailed conversation; at the second appointment, the test results are discussed and an individual treatment plan is set. In addition to IVF and ICSI, the services include cryopreservation of fertilized and unfertilized eggs as well as of sperm and testicular tissue. For men with reduced or absent sperm production, TESE (testicular sperm extraction) is available. For hereditary conditions, the KITZ offers polar body biopsy as well as preimplantation genetic testing (PGT-A). The range is complemented by immunological treatment approaches such as endometrial biopsy, partner lymphocyte immunization, and G-CSF treatment. Elective and medical egg freezing, that is, the precautionary freezing of eggs, is also offered. Regular information evenings give interested people the opportunity to get an overview before the first appointment. The practice can be reached Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Friday until 3:00 p.m. On Google, patients rate the KITZ 4.4 out of 5 stars (70 reviews).

What patients report: Patients praise the team around Dr. Suhren and Dr. Saliji-Preniqi for empathetic, competent care and good accessibility, and many report successful treatments. One patient, however, criticizes long waits at the first appointment and unsolicited advice about weight loss.
