About this clinic
At Waldweg 5 in the heart of Göttingen, a reproductive medicine practice has established itself that explicitly welcomes all kinds of families: couples of different sexual orientations, single women, people who have had several unsuccessful earlier treatments, and people who simply want to check their fertility or have their gametes frozen as a precaution. In addition to IVF and ICSI, the range of services includes TESE, the surgical retrieval of sperm in men, as well as hormone testing and support for women with recurrent miscarriages. Laboratory director Dr. Manuela Ropeter-Scharfenstein, who has worked in assisted reproduction since 1995, has established the micro-TESE method in Göttingen, among other things. Since 2022, she has also run a simulation lab for laboratory methods in reproductive medicine, where she holds workshops for other professional groups. Mohammad Atrabi, a biologist specializing in andrology with a doctorate from the University Medical Center Göttingen, is responsible for the andrology side; he performs all semen analyses covered by the German Medical Association’s laboratory quality guideline and speaks Farsi in addition to German. Anyone who would like to get an overview first can attend one of the free information evenings held quarterly at the practice, each of which includes a tour of the practice. There, the diagnostic steps, treatment options, chances of success, and cost models are discussed. Alternatively, the practice offers an anonymous, non-binding initial consultation by phone or on site. The practice is open Monday through Thursday all day with a lunch break and on Friday until 2:00 p.m. Appointments can be booked online through the practice website.

Reviews from Google
What patients report: The practice mostly receives the highest praise for empathetic care, professional expertise, and clear explanations throughout the entire fertility treatment. Patients particularly appreciate the calm, respectful atmosphere and how easy it is to reach the team. One critical voice, however, complains of unprofessional behavior from the front office through to the medical director.
