About this clinic
Since 1993, Kinderwunschzentrum Jena & Erfurt has been treating couples with infertility, making it one of the most experienced facilities for reproductive medicine in Thuringia. Founded by Priv. Doz. Dr. med. habil. Heidi Fritzsche, Prof. Dr. med. Wolfgang Carol, and Prof. Dr. med. Erwin Günther, the center looks back on more than three decades of clinical practice. The main location is at Markt 4 in Jena; a second location in Erfurt on Juri-Gagarin-Ring rounds out care in the region. The range of services includes reproductive medicine diagnostics and therapy, andrology, and endocrinology. Added to this are preventive cryopreservation of eggs (elective egg freezing), time-lapse embryo imaging, and psychological counseling as an integral part of treatment. For areas that go beyond its own range, the center works with cooperation partners in urology, human genetics, laboratory diagnostics, and psychosomatic medicine. According to its own information, treatment decisions are guided by the current state of science. Appointments can be booked online; by phone, the team can be reached Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and, on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, additionally from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
