About this clinic

Since 1999, Dr. Josef Beran, Dr. Sebastian Hagelauer, and Esther Baumbach have been treating couples facing infertility at two locations in Neuwied and Koblenz. The team of three physicians, supported by about 20 staff members in laboratory medicine, biology, and psychology, has helped more than 475 children come into the world during this time. All three physicians are specialists in obstetrics and gynecology with a focus on endocrinology and reproductive medicine. Dr. Hagelauer has worked at the clinic since 2011. Esther Baumbach joined the team in February 2021 and successfully passed her specialist examination in gynecological endocrinology and reproductive medicine in 2024. The range of services includes insemination, IVF, ICSI, IVF/ICSI Naturelle, testicular biopsy (TESE), blastocyst culture, laser assisted hatching, and the cryopreservation of eggs, sperm, and testicular tissue. In addition, the clinic offers autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP) as a complementary treatment option, a method the clinic presented in November 2024 as a new possibility in reproductive medicine. A miscarriage consultation, follow-up care for Asherman syndrome, and counseling on embryo fragmentation are available for special situations. The clinic explicitly treats lesbian couples. Treatment protocols are adapted individually. Patients who switch from other clinics report that in Neuwied they were offered a protocol tailored to their specific diagnosis for the first time. The clinic states that it successfully treats about 70% of the couples it treats each year while paying attention to comparatively low rates of multiple pregnancies and miscarriages. Psychological support is an integral part of the services. On Google, 80 patients rate the clinic an average of 4.8 out of 5 stars.
