About this clinic
Since 2000, three specialists in gynecological endocrinology and reproductive medicine, together with about 20 other staff members, have been treating couples facing infertility in Koblenz and Neuwied. Kinderwunschzentrum Mittelrhein reports that it performs about 500 treatments per year and helps around 70% of couples successfully have a child. The clinic is led by Dr. med. Josef Beran, a specialist in obstetrics and gynecology with a focus on endocrinology and reproductive medicine. Dr. med. Sebastian Hagelauer has worked at the clinic since 2011 and holds the same specialty focus. Since February 2021, Esther Baumbach has also been part of the medical team; she passed her specialist board examination in gynecological endocrinology and reproductive medicine in October 2024. The treatment spectrum ranges from insemination through IVF and ICSI to specialized procedures such as laser-assisted hatching, blastocyst culture, testicular biopsy (TESE), and cryopreservation of eggs, sperm, and testicular tissue. The clinic also offers the patient's own platelet-rich plasma (PRP), which can be used both as an injection and as a flush. Miscarriage consultation hours are available for patients after miscarriages, and follow-up care for Asherman syndrome for women with adhesions after surgery. Lesbian couples are explicitly listed as a patient group. In addition to the medical staff, the clinic also employs biologists, laboratory medicine specialists, and psychologists, so that psychological counseling is available as a standard part of the offering. Both locations, Koblenz and Neuwied, can be reached at the same phone number. Appointments for initial consultations and for the start of stimulation can be made directly through the website.
