About this clinic
Fertility treatments have been carried out in Bregenz since 1984, which makes the center one of the most experienced points of contact for reproductive medicine questions in the German-speaking world. Under the name Prof. Zech, methods that are now standard were developed here over the decades: Blastocyst culture, IMSI, and the vitrification of eggs were co-developed at this location and have been a fixed part of the treatment repertoire ever since. Since 2022, Dr. Adriane Damko has led the medical department in Bregenz. She was a longtime colleague of Prof. Zech and took over the leadership of a team that, according to the clinic, includes 67 doctors and staff members and points to a total of more than 35,000 births. In addition to IVF, ICSI, and IMSI, the range of services includes genetic diagnostics, precautionary egg freezing, and its own semen analysis with andrological evaluation. Egg donation has been permitted in Austria since 2015, but the Zech locations had already been using the procedure internationally before that. For couples from Germany, the proximity to Bregenz is a practical aspect. The clinic explicitly provides information on coverage options for patients from Germany. Free information evenings take place several times a month, supplemented by a short i20 information consultation for general questions. Psychological support is coordinated through the kiwu.care program and is aimed at couples looking for help with emotional strain during the treatment phase. The center has been part of the Nextclinics network since 2018 and runs its own scientific departments with research publications. Same-sex couples are explicitly named as a target group. Patient feedback repeatedly highlights short waiting times, quick availability by phone and email, and a calm atmosphere.
