About this clinic
Behind TCM QIWÙ is Barbara Schmer, a physician with several years of training in Traditional Chinese Medicine. The practice name says it all: “Qi Wu” stands for the five treatment areas of the practice, namely gynecology and fertility, pain, infection, emotion, and constitution. About half of her patients come for gynecological concerns or infertility. Barbara Schmer has pursued extensive further training in this area, both in conventional medicine and within TCM. Specifically, this means classical acupuncture, a second form of acupuncture in which she has trained further, and Chinese herbal medicine. In addition to fertility concerns themselves, she treats endometriosis, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), fibroids, menstrual complaints, and male fertility disorders. The approach combines TCM methods with conventional medical knowledge, without the two excluding each other. Natural medicine methods are used as a complement to conventional medicine. The practice also offers support during pregnancy, including birth-preparation acupuncture and relief of pregnancy discomforts, as well as postnatal care including breastfeeding counseling. The practice is located at Zweibrückenstraße 15 in Munich and is run as a private practice. Consultations are also possible by phone or video call; appointments by phone can be scheduled on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., and on Tuesdays from 1:00 p.m.
