About this clinic
Since 1984, the Kinderwunschzentrum Graz has been part of the LKH University Hospital Graz. That year, the second Austrian IVF baby was born at the University Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, which gives the center a special historical standing in reproductive medicine in Austria. Organizationally, the unit for gynecologic endocrinology and reproductive medicine is directly integrated into the infrastructure of the university hospital. Specifically, this means that if a treatment requires expertise from anesthesiology, urology, or another specialty, it can be accessed without a detour through external facilities. There is also close cooperation with the obstetrics department in the building, which offers prenatal diagnostics and maternal-fetal medicine. If they wish, couples can also coordinate their pregnancy care through the hospital in cooperation with gynecologists in private practice. The diagnostic spectrum covers the most common causes of involuntary childlessness: hormonal disorders such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), hyperprolactinemia, or thyroid dysfunction, blocked fallopian tubes, and changes in the uterine lining. Endometriosis is treated as a clinical focus of its own, including with dynamic ultrasound diagnostics and laparoscopy. The center is also linked to a university endometriosis competence unit at the hospital. On the treatment side, IVF, ICSI, IUI, cryopreservation, sperm donation, TESE, and elective egg freezing are offered. Andrological evaluations, including semen analysis, are also part of the range of services. Appointment requests are possible Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Outside regular working hours, an emergency outpatient clinic is available.

Reviews from Google
What patients report: Patients report serious shortcomings in care and communication: Treatments were declined without understandable reasons, patients were put under pressure when making decisions, and long waiting times were ignored. The repeated negative experiences over several treatment cycles point to fundamental problems in the clinic’s organization.
